Silicon Mountains brings technology companies, startups, research centers, investors and engineering actors into one field surface. That makes it useful for testing an ecosystem hypothesis — but event visibility is not the same as market importance, demand or partnership fit.

What to know before the event
KNOW: arrive with a layered view of Armenia’s AI, engineering, research, compute and ecosystem-support structure rather than a publicity-driven list of visible companies.
DECIDE: choose which counterparties, uncertainties and market-entry or partnership questions deserve scarce field time.
Four themes worth testing in Yerevan
Compute and infrastructure. Public and private AI-compute initiatives are visible. The field question is who can actually access which resources, under what terms, and whether access changes company or research outcomes.
Research transfer. University–industry labs and research surfaces exist. The useful question is where collaboration becomes repeatable commercial work, hiring, IP or product development.
Engineering depth. Semiconductor design, EDA, microelectronics and complex engineering should be mapped separately from a generic software/startup story.
Ecosystem connectors. Institutions and events can reveal networks and entry routes, but visibility does not establish neutrality, completeness or strategic importance.
How KTC uses the event
We use public evidence to separate what is observed from what is inferred, record what remains unknown, and turn those unknowns into questions that can be tested in meetings. The event is a sampling frame for field work, not an ecosystem census.
The relevant KTC method is a bounded Market Validation / Decision Brief: define the decision, map the evidence, identify the uncertainties that matter, and use field conversations to improve the decision map.
